Review: L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipstick in Primrose

 Hey, Ladies!

I borrowed this lipstick from my friend, Liz, a few days ago. It was actually given to her by her aunt and offered me first 'dibs' on the product. Of course, I was happy to try it out!
I haven't had the opportunity to use much L'Oreal products. Most that I've tried are their foundations so I was really curious on trying one of their lipsticks.

So for the time being that I had this lipstick, I shall share with you my thoughts and experiences with it in this review.

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipstick in Primrose

What the product says:

Additional Info:

This product is equipped with 2 tubes. One is for the color and the other is for moisturizing.

You get the product by pulling it out. The cap will remain at the metal container.
I like the container. It holds the tubes tight and will help you avoid losing them. Plus, it's easy to carry since it isn't bulky at all.

Here are the swatches for the color and moisturizer
on skin

on paper

The Primrose color is gorgeous. It has a semi matte finish with a little frosted effect.
The moisturizer, on the other hand, has a glossy finish.

The lipstick

The lipstick is very sticky... very, very sticky. It felt like I was applying glue that's almost dry. When you apply it, wait for it to dry off for 2 minutes before applying the moisturizer. Avoid applying more than 1 coat because it has a tendency to flake off. Also, avoid pressing your lips together to spread the product. I'm not a fan of the scent. And it shouldn't be stored in a very hot place. This one kind of soft but it turned OK when I stored it in the fridge for the night.

The moisturizer

This is VERY important. The lipstick alone makes your lips really dry. It also counteracts the smell of the lipstick.

Here's the lipstick alone

and this shot is when the moisturizer is applied.

This lipstick really does stay true to its claim that it can last for 16 hours. I already ate, drank water and even washed my face and it was still there. The staying power is awesome! Only thing that I hated was that I have to apply the moisturizer every hour. It really made my lips really dry.

Here's a shot of the swatch when we tried to wash it off with soap. It was very difficult to remove. The only way to remove the product is by using a good makeup remover.

So what do I like about it?

It has an amazing staying power
The color, Primrose, is gorgeous
Available in 12 different shades
The moisturizer is a really good lip balm
I like the packaging

What I don't like about it:

The product made my lips very dry
I don't like the smell of the lipstick
It gets flaky at times

I guess trying this product didn't made me want to repurchase it. Although I like that it's very long-lasting, I hate getting chappy lips. I don't really mind retouching my lips every once in a while so I guess I'll be skipping this one.

Have you tried this product yet? What do you think about it?

  2. Gellie- Yes. Would have been nice if they didn't separate it and it's super long lasting and kept my lips moisturized.

  3. Yun lang nga ang problem sa mga long last lipstick na yan! I have the same problem with Revlon Colorstay. Annoying! It put me off from using it :(

  5. I've had trouble with L'Oreal lippies, too. Mine naman was Kissables; my lips were super dry with that product. Super nice pa naman the color kaya I wanted to love it. Kaso the dryness I couldn't stand talaga.

Rebel Sweetheart- Talaga? Sayang naman. I guess it's not a super loss if I didn't try much of their lipsticks. :P

  9. wickeRmoss - Oh well, if only the moisturizer stayed on as long as the lipstick, it would have been nice. :P
